Feather fun!
Back to my acrylic painting today and it is really starting to take shape. It's nice to have some fun doing something a bit more abstract for a change!

Stage 2 of my oil painting
I am really enjoying my oil painting and was so glad to get back to my canvas this afternoon! I'm so pleased with the way this one is developing! I am using this time away from my oil class to put into practice all the techniques i have learnt so far, ready for the new term and new challenges ahead.

Second painting on the go!
The curse of using oils hit me today! Because i was creating some lovely impasto work with my palette knives last week, the paint is still wet today! I didn't want to risk messing it up as i am really happy with the way it is progressing so i decided to get my acrylics out and start a new painting! Now i have 2 on the go at once! A new first for me! As i started painting it hit me that i haven't used acrylics in a year, (plus that it was no good starting without water for my brushes!)! This one is a more abstract piece to complement one of my earlier pieces "peacock train". It was difficult to get going but here is the start.

Paintbrushes & Palette Knives
This is the first stage of my new oil painting! I have decided to use a mix of paintbrushes and palette knifes as there are so many different textures to this one! I am really liking the profile i am getting with the knives as i love the texture of thick paint on canvas, it really adds dimension and extra interest.
